Selection Process:
When submitting a Key Influencer (KI) nomination, it is important to include specific examples of the nominee's impact on the community, especially their involvement with youth. Strong nominations clearly demonstrate how the individual goes above and beyond to make a meaningful, lasting difference in the lives of young people.
Nominees should currently have regular interaction with youth in their community. Their influence should be active, ongoing, and have a positive impact on the next generation. While nominees do not need to hold a leadership position within an organization, they should stand out because of their exceptional dedication, service, and commitment to helping youth.
The strongest candidates are individuals who consistently exceed the expectations of their role and make a significant difference in their community.
Examples of individuals who may be eligible for nomination include:
Teachers who have been recognized as Teacher of the Year at the community, district, or state level.
Teachers or school administrators who have received recognition for going above and beyond in serving students.
Police officers, firefighters, EMTs, or other first responders who have been recognized for their service, heroism, or positive impact on youth.
Youth coaches, mentors, or extracurricular leaders who have made a significant impact through organizations such as Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Police Explorers, Scouts, or similar youth programs.
Community leaders or volunteers who make a meaningful difference in the lives of children, including underserved or children with disabilities.
